The Agent link on a Patron’s profile allows a ResCenter user to login to the patron’s MyResCenter Web site to view how the web site appears for that patron.
Note: A patron’s MyResCenter Web page is configured according to the patron’s Patron Type. A different MyResCenter Web page can be configured for each Patron Type in the Odyssey HMS UI. Refer to the HMS WebPatron section of the Odyssey HMS Help for more information.
In order to have access to the Agent link, a user must be granted the Patron.Agent user permission. User Permissions are configurable via Security > Roles. If a user logged-in to ResCenter has Access Permitted for this entity, the user will have access to the Agent link. If a user has Access Denied for this entity, the Agent link will not appear.
Note: If a ResCenter user is restricted to only view patron records that match a department or attribute value, the user can only act as an Agent for those qualifying patrons. Refer to the Patron Record Restriction information in the Edit a Staff Member section for more information.
Users viewing a patron’s MyResCenter Web (WebPatron) account via the Agent link can perform any function that a Patron can perform. In the Web History tab of the Odyssey HMS Web module, all actions performed by the staff member will display, but “by [staff member’s user ID]” will be appended to each message in the log.
