Use the following procedure to create a Waiting List:
1. Select Waiting Lists from the Setup > Facilities menu. The Waiting Lists page is displayed.
2. Click Create Waiting List.
3. Enter a Name for the Waiting List.
4. Select a Term to associate with the Waiting List. When a Term is selected, the Start Date and End Date are populated with the Term’s date range.
5. Select a Start Date and End Date to define the date range that the Waiting List is valid.
6. Enter the number of days until a Waiting List offer expires. If a patron is on the Waiting List and is offered an opportunity based on the Waitlist request, this value determines the maximum number of days the patron has to accept the offer. By default, a Waiting List Offer will expire after 30 days.
7. Select the following options for the Waiting List:
• Remove Patrons from this Waiting List when assigned – When enabled, Patrons are removed from the Waiting List once they are assigned. If Patrons on the Waiting List have had an assignment generated within the Waiting List’s date range, the Patrons will be removed.
• Allow adding patrons who have inactive entries on this Waiting List – When enabled, Patrons with inactive entries for the Waiting List can be added to the same Waiting List again. An “inactive entry” has a status of Canceled, Denied, Expired, Approved, or Rejected.
If this option is disabled, once the patron has a final state, they cannot be added back on the waiting list.
8. Select either Require Facility Selection or Require Attribute Selection to define what patrons will be able to request by completing the Waiting List form.
• Require Facility Selection – If enabled, the Waiting List will allow patrons to request a specific facility. If selected, select one or more facilities.
• Require Attribute Selection – If enabled, the Waiting List will allow patrons to request a specific Attribute value based on the selected Attribute. If selected, select an Attribute from the list.
9. By default, the Waiting List will be set to Show. When enabled, the Waiting List is available for use in ResCenter. If necessary, uncheck the Show checkbox to disable the Waiting List from being used.
10. Click Save. Once a Waiting List is created, it must be linked to a Waiting List Form (via Setup > Patron) to allow patrons to access it.
