There are configuration settings in Odyssey HMS Web for the Student Web site and ResCenter that must be configured in order to use the Proxy feature.

Odyssey HMS Web

The following setup is required in Odyssey HMS:

•     On the patron's navigation menu, add a link to designate/revoke a proxy.

Using the Navigation option on the Web Sites tab, double-click Proxy to define the link to the Proxy page. The navigation parameters include Display Name, Hyperlink (enter Proxy.asp), and fields for a description and information on where the new link will be placed compared to all other links on the page. The Proxy function allows patrons to request, revoke, and delete proxy requests.

•     On the patron's home page, configure the message and hyperlink that will display when the patron has been requested to be a proxy for another patron.

The message that will be displayed on the patron's home page when a patron has a proxy request is controlled by the ProxyMessage property (select Properties on the Web Sites tab). The message is also a hyperlink that links to a Web page to either accept or decline the proxy request.

ResCenter

Parameters for the Proxy feature are set in the System Parameters option accessed from the General tab. Staff members can define the contract language of the proxy designation for which a patron will be electronically signing when designating a proxy, and can specify whether email notifications are sent when actions (request, accept, decline, revoke) take place.
