Use the following procedure to create a family from the Family tab:
1. From the Patron menu, select Search for Patron and perform a search for a patron.
2. From the Patron List grid, click a row to select a patron.
3. Select the Family tab.
4. From the Family grid, click New. The Create Family pop-up displays.
5. Select or enter the Start Date of the family. If necessary, select or enter an End Date. If no End Date is entered, the family will be effective forever.
6. Click Save and Add Members.
7. Add a family member to the family by searching for an existing patron using the Lookup function.
Alternatively, add a new patron by selecting the Add New Patron option. Enter a First Name and Last Name for the patron. The patron’s ID number will be auto-generated.
8. Select a Relationship from the drop-down menu. This is the patron’s relationship to the host.
9. Select or enter the Start Date of the relationship. If necessary, select or enter an End Date. If no End Date is entered, the relationship will be effective forever.
10. If necessary, click Save and Add New to add another family member. The current family member will be added, and the fields will be reset. Repeat steps 7-9 for each additional family member.
11. When finished adding family members, click Save and Exit.
