If necessary, a user can edit the asset type of a facility. Once an asset type is edited, a record of the change is stored in the Asset Type timeline. For each entry in the grid, the Asset Type and the assigned date range (the Effective Date and End Date) are displayed.
Before changing an Asset Type, the following requirements must be met:
• The new Asset Type must have the same Facility Type as the facility.
For example: To change the Asset Type to Double for a facility with a Facility Type of Room, then the Double must be defined with the Facility Type of Room.
• If the facility has a contract at the planned date of change, the new Asset Type must be able to appear on a contract.
• The facility, at the proposed change date, must not have a contract with an active Charge Schedule attached.
Use the following procedure to edit a facility’s asset type:
1. From the Facilities section of the Facilities menu, select Manage Facilities.
2. From the Facility Tree, click on a facility to select the facility to view. If necessary, expand the tree by clicking on the expand icon for the desired parent facility.
3. Below the main facility information, current asset type will be displayed.
4. In the Asset Type grid, right-click on an Asset Type and select Edit. If an asset type does not currently exist, a new asset type can be added by double-clicking a gray area in the calendar.
5. To set the change for a specific date, select a Date for the change. Otherwise, the current date will be used, by default.
6. Select an asset type from the Asset Type drop-down menu.
7. Click Save. The Facility asset type successfully updated message is displayed.
