The facility move functionality allows an administrator to create a different facility structure without adding or copying a new facility. Facilities can be moved by dragging and dropping a facility within the tree. If there are facilities below the moved facility, they can be moved in the same action. Moving a facility will also generate a new facility label and facility display name. 

It is not possible to have two of the same facility types on the same branch of the Facility Tree.  For example, a suite cannot be moved below another suite. However, a room can be moved below a suite. 

It is also not possible to move a Space-level facility linked to another facility by an active contract.  The two facilities must remain in the same relationship, although the contract facility and Space group can be moved to another location in the tree. 

If a facility is moved on a particular Move At Date and then moved again using an earlier Move At Date, the both moves will be preserved.

Use the following procedure to move a facility from the Facilities tab:

1.  From the Facilities section of the Facilities menu, select Manage Facilities.

2.  From the Facility Tree, click on a facility to select the facility to view. If necessary, expand the tree by clicking on the expand icon  for the desired parent facility.

3.  Drag and drop the facility to its new location. If the facility should be underneath another, make sure that parent facility is highlighted to indicate the location of the moved facility.  To expand a section of the tree, hold the moved facility over the new facility.

4.  A prompt will be displayed to indicate the date in which the facility should be moved. Enter the effective date of the facility move.

If necessary, check the Move Entire Structure check box to move any children facilities below the moved facility. If the moved facility is a parent facility, this option will be checked by default.

5.  Click OK.
