The Propagate Attributes function allows an administrator to add or change the value of a Facility Attribute for multiple facilities.
Use the following procedure to propagate attributes for a facility from the Facilities page:
1. From the Facilities section of the Facilities menu, select Manage Facilities.
2. Click Propagate Attributes. The Propagate Attributes window will be displayed.
3. If necessary, select a date for the Facility Tree and click Refresh to update the tree.
4. In the Facility Tree, select one or more facilities by checking the checkbox next to a facility. Selecting a parent facility will also select any child facilities underneath it.
5. Once all facilities are selected, configure attribute information for the facilities by editing the following fields:
a. Select a Facility Attribute. The Value field will be displayed.
b. Enter or select a Value for the attribute. To select a blank or null value, select [Clear], and check the Overwrite Existing Values option.
To remove an existing free-form value, delete the value from the Value field, and check the Overwrite Existing Values option.
c. If the selected facility attribute exists for the dates selected, the attribute will not be overwritten, by default. To overwrite a value, check the Overwrite Existing Values checkbox.
d. Select the Effective Date and End Date (if necessary) for the attribute. If necessary, first select a Term to auto-fill the date range.
Note: The Term drop-down menu is only used to select a date range that corresponds with the term. Users are not limited to only setting attributes by term dates.
6. Click Apply to save changes and stay on the Propagate Attributes page. The Facilities attributes have been successfully propagated message is displayed.
Alternatively, click OK to save changes and return to the main Facility page. The Facilities attributes have been successfully propagated message is displayed.
