After adding patrons to the assignment batch, a user can change the order in which the candidates are processed by choosing three attributes or two attributes and the Lottery option. Alternatively, users can choose to order the candidate list by Application Submitted date.
The Lottery option is a randomly generated number and is always last in the order. If a group of patrons does not have a value for one of the attributes, it is placed after all other patrons who do have a value for the attribute. Patrons who are moved to the end of the group are then ordered within the group by the values for the remaining sort attributes.
1. Select Automatic Assignment from the Assignment section of the Patron menu. The List of Assignment Batches grid is displayed in the Search tab on the Automatic Assignment page.
2. If necessary, search for an assignment batch.
3. Click Select on the desired assignment batch, and then select the Candidates tab.
4. Click the Order… button. The Candidate Sort Order for Currently Selected Assignment Batch window is displayed.
5. Lottery will be selected by default. Select an attribute from the Select Patron Attribute drop-down list and click on Insert to add it to the Sort By Attributes/Appl. Submitted Date window.
6. To change the attribute sort order, select the attribute and click on either the Up or Down arrow button to move it within the list.
7. If an attribute in the sort order has a value list, you can further set the sort order using the attribute’s value list. First, select the attribute. Then, use the arrow buttons next to the Attribute Values Sort Order section to change the order. The value list is used during the sorting process.
8. When finished adjusting the processing order, click OK.
