A compatible card reader can be used with an Apple or Android mobile device to perform a patron look-up for a check-in or check-in. It is also possible to scan a GET My Card barcode using a mobile card reader or the mobile device’s camera. To use this functionality, a staff member must have the Odyssey Reader application installed and configured on a mobile device. Refer to Configuring the Odyssey Reader App for ResCenter Check In/Out in the Odyssey Reader Application section for more information.
Note: Before using a GET My Card barcode for check-in or check-out, ResCenter must have a valid GET Site ID defined via Setup > Web > System Parameters > General. Contact CBORD Support for any questions about this process.
Check In/Out via Card Swipe
1. With a supported card reader device connected, launch the Odyssey Reader app.
2. Within the app’s browser window, log in to ResCenter.
3. Navigate to the Check-In or Check-Out page in the Patron module in ResCenter.
4. Swipe the patron ID card.
5. When the card’s media number is recognized, ResCenter will select the patron.
6. Proceed with the Check-In or Check-Out process as usual.
Check In/Out via Barcode Scan
1. With a supported card reader device connected, launch the Odyssey Reader app.
2. Within the app’s browser window, log in to ResCenter.
3. Navigate to the Check-In or Check-Out page in the Patron module in ResCenter.
4. Tap Scan Barcode at the top of the app.
5. When the card’s media number is recognized, ResCenter will select the patron.
